another discovery of cause of bumps

Postby White Stone » Sat May 30, 2015 7:29 pm

A couple of months back I had to stop therapy as I also had a lot of pain from too aggressive stretching and torn tendons in the back of my ankle. About the same time I decided to stop taking the blood pressure pill I had been taking for over a year. (Chlorthalid) In less than a week the bumps smoothed out and the pain left. During this time I was sent to get orthotics (sp) made. I get them on June 4th. I will wear them as much as possible and look forward to seeing if they help with the muscle cramping I have been having.

Anyway, for what it is worth, there is some connection with that medication (it is actually a water pill). I told my Primary Care Dr about that yesterday, she said, "Humm." Maybe if any of the other patients she has takes that drug and gets foot pain she may make a discovery.

Walk softly,

Thanks for sharing. Certainly something worth exploring. There are many factors in play with these conditions that are not understood yet, maybe this is another one.

Thanks,

Gary

Hi Gary,

Just found this out today. In my OP I mentioned I had a torn achilles tendon. Well, turns out it was not accidental!

http://www.theptdc.com/2014/01/the-top-10-drugs-that-trainers-must-know-about/

From the link:
7. Fluoroquinolones (Cipro or Ciprofloxacin, Levaquin or levofloxacin)

Prescribed for common urinary tract infections in women (and men too once in awhile), flouroquinolones can weaken tendons temporarily. I would be very careful with the plyometics and heavy loads in clients who have recently been on one of these.

I do not trust anything they prescribe for me now.

Thank you for your reply,

resorting back to the BP pills

Postby White Stone » Sun Jul 26, 2015 2:47 pm

I have had mostly a pain free period up until last week. Unbeknownst to me my BP had inched up dangerously. My fibromas all surged back to life and were killing me. I was at a loss. Then last Thursday evening I developed terrifying symptoms. My arm was going numb and painful, as if being squeezed. Checked my BP, it was 200/96. Took one BP pill and went to bed with my feet elevated. Next day I went to my General Practitioner. She told me to take the BP meds and prescribed another 'emergency' pill to take if things go over 160/. (clonldine). That night the same high BP and worse symptoms. We called 911. They big truck came out and checked my heart, BG and BP. All were fine, as I had taken the emergency pill an hour before they got there. (We did not call 911 immediately.) I elected to not go to the hospital. Last night around the same time the BP spiked. These spikes happen just after my Mother calls. Hummmmm!

The good news is with the BP lowered the fibromas are again in remission and there is no pain - where 2 days ago I could not walk without crying. This is a big clue - those of you with painful fibromas - check your Blood Pressure. I would like to see your readings and know if this info helped.

Kind regards and happy feet,
White Stone

Still taking the BP pills (Chlorthalid), BP is very high even with them.

Pain is back with a vengence and the bumps in the right foot only. I have to stop the pills for a while, I can not stand this pain. I will monitor the BP and see how it goes. Even with the pills it has been running approx. 140/88.

Life goes on, just more awkward getting around.

I also have the pulling pain in the bottom of my right foot, so I am going to try some stretches. Not sure I will be able to execute those with the bumps hurting so bad.

This forum is the only place where anyone understands how I feel.

Hope the rest of you have found some relief.

Kind regards, White Stone

Many life changes in the last 6 months. Have been going to a BP specialist and that is pretty much lowered. Actually, too much so, as I can not stay awake.

However, my Husband of 42 years died 11-26-16. Plus, I have been diagnosed with 2 cancers. Breast Cancer and Bone Marrow Cancer. I have begun Chemo and have had 5 sessions of it. The foot pain is back, too. I have a Cancer buddy and she tells me she has developed Neuropathy pain in her feet - from the Chemo. Maybe that is what I am having now, but it feels like the same pain I got from the Plantar Fibromas.

They were able to remove the tumour in my breast with minimal removal of tissue. Whee! I will be getting Chemo for over a year and then Radiation daily for a long time (I don't remember how long).

With all the other issues, as much as the foot pain hurts, it is not on the front burner, so to speak. I just wanted to make mention of it in case I forget, I will have access to the information. Sorry for using the forum as a journal. Hope every one is making out OK.

Regards,
